According to the latest WHO data published in 2013 life expectancy of Somalia is Male:53.0, female 55.8 and total life expectancy is 54.4. and some of the top most diseases that effects the Somali people and decreased their life expectancy includes: Coronary heart disease, stroke, Hypertension and most importantly Diabetes mellitus which is the baseline of these chronic diseases. Most of Somali people especially women are obese and live in sedentary life, which increases the chance of getting such chronic diseases and this leads to decrease in Somali life expectancy.
